One of the most successful and popular wine bar/restaurants in London, the Ebury Wine Bar & Restaurant has been open for 50 years and enjoys a large following at home and world-wide.
The reason for this success: lots of atmosphere with a witty and sustained ‘trompe l'oeil’ décor and starred cuisine.
The cooking – a blend of traditional and innovative dishes – has won huge acclaim among gourmets and the 'gastro media'. There are bar snacks for the light eaters and, as might be expected from a well established wine bar/restaurant, an adventurous and exciting wine list.
In a nutshell, the Ebury offers gourmet food at wine bar prices – a rare distinction these days.
We are also able to cater for lunch and dinner parties for up to 35 throughout the week in the lower part of the restaurant, so please ask us about of set menus and reduced menus for larger groups.
The Ebury Wine Bar & Restaurant is open lunchtimes and evenings every weekday. Why not try our popular Saturday brunch or visit Sunday for a relaxing lunch or dinner.

Meet the Ebury team:
The Ebury Wine Bar & Restaurant is owned and run by husband and wife team Nigel and Elizabeth Windridge.
Nigel considers The Ebury to be his second home as he has been closely associated with the running of the wine bar and restaurant since 1973. He enjoys choosing the wines, overseeing the menus and arranging the trompe l’oeil décor.
Elizabeth is known for her floral displays, both inside and outside the Ebury. She has an ever busy contact schedule with local hoteliers, concierges and business houses.
Trent Williams, the manager, has been connected with the wine bar since 1997. Between 2002 and 2004 he was in Australia as restaurants manager with Le Meridien, assisted an independent opening and a sommelier in Melbourne’s Best New Restaurant of 2003. On return to London he joined Lowlander Grand Café of Covent Garden, opened their City of London site in 2006 and is now happy to be back at the Ebury Wine Bar & Restaurant.
Our chef de cuisine is Bernard Dumonteil, originally from north east France, trained in the resort village of Gerardmer. After couple of years after visiting London in 1986 Bernard moved to take up the position of head chef at L’ecluse in Weybridge. In 1995 he took on a position with Chez Gerard and came to the Ebury Wine Bar & Restaurant in 2003, taking on the head chef role in 2006.
